Soccer or (football) as many around the world know it is the world most popular sport. It dates back to the middle ages and the World Cup makes the Super Bowl look like child's play (don’t tell that to any red blooded American).  It is played by children from Mongolia to Argentina and is a game of endurance and passion.  It really does not take too much equipment to play, really all you need is a ball.  A lot of kids and adults just use two trees or a couple of t-shirts to create a make shift goal.  There is a huge variety of goals out there though.  From big non portable ones to small fold up goals that you can put in your closet they come in all shapes and sizes.  We will address the different types of goals that are on the market and help you find the best one for you.

Professional Goals

Soccer goals will range in price and size.  The official size of a goal for professional soccer and the size used in the World Cup is 8 ft. x 24 ft.  The price ranges for goals also.  To get a high quality professional goal you are looking to spend around $2000 USD+.  This is a permanent goal that is designed to stay in one spot.

College Soccer Goals

Soccer goals for college are somewhat smaller than the professional goals.  These measure 7 ft. x 21 ft.  This makes it a little more challenging to score and probably make the college player up their skill to score.  These usually weigh around 270 lbs.  A good quality college soccer goal will also run you around $2000+

High School Soccer Goals

Surprisingly enough the high school goals measure the same as the professional goal at 8 ft. x 24 ft.  It is funny how these goals are the same a professional game and then in college the size shrinks, only then to return to the same size for professional ball.  They are usually in ground and weigh around 300+ lbs.  Again the price is similar to the college and professional goals.

Middle School Goals

Middle school goals usually are around 6.5 ft. x 18 ft and are a little over 200 lbs.  Their field is closer to that of high school size however, the goal is not.  It usually ranges for players around 11-14 years of age.  These goals are closer to $500- $1000 for a good quality one.

Youth Soccer Goals

Most youth leagues will use a goal around 4.5 ft. x 9 ft.  These goals are also not usually permanent, they weigh around 175 lbs. and are portable.  Many of the younger leagues will have a make shift field and can use the goals to move around to make the field.

Combination Goals

Some of the cheaper and smaller goals that are used for practice and games for smaller children can be used for a variety of sports.  These are usually collapsable and portable.  They can be used for hockey, soccer, water polo and any sport that requires a goal.  They will usually run less than $100.

Portable Goals

Portable goals are great for practice or games for children, and non professional leagues.  The portable goals come in all different shapes and sizes for people to use.  They can be professional size or very small and collapsable for easy storage.  These goals will run you anywhere from $10 to the thousands.
